Mopeds in Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City is home to 10 million people and 4 million mopeds. The moped traffic is ridiculous. Because they are small, drivers consider themselves above all drive signs and laws. Red lights don't slow them; one way streets don't deter them. Four people die daily from moped accidents.

The cargo on mopeds is amazing. Several months ago I blogged about mopeds but Vietnam tops all other nations.

Things I have seen carried on mopeds in Vietnam:

20 foot bamboo spears
Five people
Four (yes, four!) kegs of beer
A refrigerator
A hotdog stand

And my personal favorite: a chainsaw.
